Non-Work Related Activities/Interests:

I enjoy running, working on puzzles, yoga, and cooking. Prior to becoming a graduate student at Colorado School of Mines, I was a high school teacher for five years and worked closely with local higher-level institutions to encourage and prepare students for post-secondary education. I have over ten years of experience working with a national grant-funded program, Upward Bound, which helps underrepresented students attend a university/college and guides them to succeed in their area of interest by providing internship opportunities. I am part of the Diversity, Inclusion, and Access implementation plan committee with the Applied Mathematics and Statistics Department at Colorado School of Mines where we meet to discuss and implement ways to better serve students and community.
