Roger Garcia received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree in the B.S/M.S. Science and Technology, Computational Mathematics Option, a 5 year program terminating in a M.S degree with a B.S degree awarded after the fourth year. The degree is part of the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology, and Mathematics, and honor college program at Kean University. He is currently pursuing my doctorate in Computer Science from Mississippi State University and working as a graduate research assistant at the Distributed Analytics and Security Institute (DASI) part of the High Performance Computing Collaboratory (HPC2) at Mississippi State University. His research Interests include High Performance Computing, performance optimization, big data analytics and cyber security. Roger was part of the Undergraduate Blue Waters Student Internship Program in 2011 and participated in Supercomputing in 2011 (SC11). Roger also participated at the SIAM Computational Science and Engineering (CSE15) conference part of the Broader Engagement program and Sustainable Horizons Institute and has since become part of the student advisory committee for the Sustainable Horizons Institute.
