Biography:
Hi! My name is Abeyah Calpatura. I’m a Sophomore Undergraduate Computer Science major at San Joaquin Delta College. I’ve experienced working at Ames National Laboratory with Theresa Windus working on Python Testing Performance with Perlmutter. I really enjoy coding on my own time and currently learning how to do IOS development taking a course with CodePath. I have experience with Python, Assembly, C++, Linux, VIM, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Where has your research been published or where have you conducted research/technical projects? During the summer, I worked with Theresa Windus on NWChemEx at Ames National Laboratory doing python performance testing on Perlmutter.

Please describe your research/academic interests:
I’m interested in learning more about machine learning and understanding more software engineering practices with AI. I want to expand my skills and continue learning new areas within the field. I want to be able to create a better future and career through learning new ideas and advancing scientific productivity.

Research Synergy:
Computation and AI Machine learning are interesting areas to work in at the DOE labs because I want to expand my skills in coding. While being at Ames National Laboratory, I was able to learn how to work with high-performance computers. I want to learn more about machine learning as it can expand my skills within the field and understand how it works.

Motivation:
I want to inherit skills within the field and continue being engaged with many different research topics. I want to be able to diversify what skills I need to become a better student and for my future career. I want to continue my research on machine learning and be able to meet new people and learn new ideas.
