Adam Goines is a Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. student at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute. Adam works with Dr. Jason Hicken as a Research Assistant studying computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and its application to engineering design optimization. Adam believes that the fields of quantum computing and machine learning have to potential to transform the field of CFD, and his work with Dr. Hicken seeks to enable that transformation. Adam has been awarded the Rensselaer Graduate Fellowship, the Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarship/Fellowship, GEM Graduate Fellowship, and a host of other research and merit-based awards for his graduate school education. Adam Goines is a well-rounded researcher that is also Division 1 Atlantic 10 Conference champion in basketball and in the same year was on the Fall 2016 Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Adam Goines holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Dayton and plans on completing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic in 2024.
