Where did you grow up?
I grew up mainly in Mexico City.
What’s your field of study and how did you get into that field?
I studied chemistry, and specialized in theoretical chemistry. I was undecided about studying computing, biology, mathematics, or physics, and found out that chemistry has it all.
What fascinates you about HPC?
HPC is a tool to solve challenging problems. I am excited about improving codes to perform fast in HPC. It is like a racing car that you can tune, and supercharge to make the most on the tracks.
What’s your current title and what do you do?
Computational Scientist. I help projects to succeed in HPC accomplish complex calculations.
What energy justice topic is most important to you and why?
Fair and affordable distribution are huge to me.
