Institution/Organization: Texas State University
Department: Computer Science
Academic Status: Doctoral student
Biography:
I am a first-generation college student and a disabled combat veteran of the U.S. Army. After a significant gap in my education, I began taking college courses in 2017. I have since realized my passion in computers and programming, and I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Texas State University. My research interests lie in High-Performance Computing (HPC), parallel programming, low-level programming, and systems development.
Motivation:
I have gained much experience in HPC, parallel programming, and programming for performance in the past few years. Although my summer task relates more closely to the systems development side, I will be working in an area of research that is new to me: performance analysis. I am exciting about working with the Exascale Computing Project and know that this is an excellent opportunity to improve upon my skills.
