Institution/Organization: University of South Dakota
Department: Bioinformatics and biomedical engineering/bioengineering
Academic Status: Doctoral student
Biography:
My name is Diing de Mapior Agany, and I am a Ph.D. student at the University of South Dakota. I hold two master’s degrees: Biotechnology-Bioinformatics & Biomedical Engineering and worked in inter-bioinformatics-life sciences fields.
Motivation:
I am motivated to join the Sustainable Horizons Institute- High-Performance Computing (SRP-HPC) because my background intersects sciences (bio/life) and technology (computers). Hence, I am interested in utilizing High-Performance Computing (HPC) or advanced computing for bio-problems. I believe formulating problems and solving them using technology requires understanding both domains. Therefore, I am glad that SRP-HPC provided these opportunities, such as the Brookhaven National laboratory internship I was given, funded through the SRP-HPC pathway. I appreciated the opportunity and wanted to learn through the program and contribute to its forwardness as my capacity could permit.
