Biography:

Dylan is a masters student in the Big Data Analytics program at San Diego State University. He aims to use machine learning to help solve some of the world’s most challenging problems. He graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Statistics and a Minor in Data Science. He enjoys applying data science skills to the medical and financial fields. He is currently working on a research project regarding how the war in Ukraine is impacting the predictably of the energy sector of the US stock market and how to identify companies with sustainable business strategies who are likely to be successful in the long term.

Motivation:

My greatest motivation in participating in this program is the opportunity to learn about all the impactful machine learning applications being researched in the DoE national labs. Getting exposure to all the ongoing studies at these labs will help me develop my own skills in conducting successful research projects. The experience I will gain from this program will help advance my career in becoming a professional data scientist.
