What conference theme areas are you interested in:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for science and engineering;
Data assimilation, challenges in data science, math of AI and ML

Interests:

My research interests are in machine learning and deep learning techniques as they pertain to image processing. I am mainly focused on exploiting the qualities of different machine learning techniques for various applications, e.g. image classification, denoising, and anomaly detection. In addition, I am interested in applying these techniques to different imaging modalities, such as synthetic aperture radar and biomedical imagery.

Non-Work Related Activities/Interests:

I have been a member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) since undergrad. During my last year at my undergraduate institution, I served as vice president of the Cal Poly Pomona SIAM Student Chapter. In my second year in my current graduate program, I served as co-secretary of the UC Merced SIAM Student Chapter, and this year I am vice president. As a member of SIAM and as part of the leadership, my aim to promote STEM fields and support those in the field who are underrepresented, especially women. I have organized both Derivative and Integration Bees, which have the purpose of being friendly competitions to get students engaged outside of the classroom. We also hold other events such as graduate school panels and research seminars.
