John Holly joins SHI as a program coordinator. Mr. Holly has an extremely diverse and creative background that includes logistics and technical support, student mentoring, and music production. Most recently, he was a member of the XSEDE Broadening Participation team where he managed conference participation and regional training events and provided logistics support and mentorship for Advanced Computing for Social Change Workshops and HPC in the City/HackHPC Hackathons. Mr. Holly facilitated all preparations for in-person training events at diverse institutions nationwide, tested training materials for online delivery, and developed YouTube videos on Account Creation and Implementation of Two Factor Authentication. He represented the Broadening Participation program on the XSEDE Terminology Task Force (TTF) launched to creating a more inclusive environment by addressing legacy exclusionary terms in all XSEDE materials. John researched terms, fielded submissions of terms from the community for review by the Task Force, and moderated Birds of a Feather sessions at SC and PEARC conferences.
