Institution: University of Puerto Rico – Rio Piedras
Department: Computer Science

Biography:
I’m a CS junior at University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. I’m most interested in AI/ML and data engineering. I want to leverage these technologies to make a positive impact in my community. This motivation led me to develop CableGuard, an Object Detection Algorithm to detect cable damage in power lines and bridges within hurricane-prone regions. I took part in an energy justice project within the Intro to HPC Bootcamp and most recently, got hired as an Undergraduate Machine Learning Researcher at my institution. I have the most experience with Computer Vision but look forward to learning about NLP and other Deep Learning concepts.
