Stephanie Otero, CPA is a published author and established leader in the nonprofit sector. She joined Sustainable Horizons Institute in July 2022 and currently serves as the Controller overseeing all fiscal and human resource responsibilities for the organization.
Prior to joining Sustainable Horizons Institute, Stephanie was the CEO and CFO for Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino, the largest hunger relief organization in Riverside, CA. Maintaining dual roles for nearly 7 years, Stephanie developed innovative hunger-relief programs, such as FoodRx, while creating a foundation of financial stability for the organization that would allow them to sustain their programs for many years to come.
In addition to her leadership experience, Stephanie also had her own CPA practice for 13 years in Palm Desert, CA where she specialized in nonprofit organizations.
Stephanie has acquired many accolades throughout the years including, Co-author of “Navigating Entrepreneurship”, a 2021 So Cal Hometown Hero, a 2019 Latina Women of Influence and more!
Stephanie graduated from San Diego State University in 1998 with a B.S. in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Accounting and holds an active CPA License in California and New Mexico.
