Shelby Lockhart is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at AMD in the HPC and Sovereign AI group where she serves as the lead communication library expert supporting modeling, benchmarking, optimizing, debugging, and training for large-scale scientific applications. She received her PhD in Scientific Computing/ High Performance Computing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she focused on the design of scalable solvers. She is an active member in the HPC community through participation on the program committees for the ExaMPI Workshop, IEEE Hot Interconnects, the SIAM Career Committee, IPDPS, and various SC committee positions.
Shelby is extremely passionate about creating welcoming spaces within the world of applied mathematics and high performance computing. She spends much of her free time participating in mentoring activities through various organizations and leading trainings with her team when possible.
