Catalyzing Ubiquitous Learning Through InnoVATive Engaging Conversations (CULTIVATE Conversations)

Catalyzing Ubiquitous Learning Through InnoVATive Engaging Conversations (CULTIVATE Conversations) is an effort to provide opportunities for students, faculty, and mentors to build a diverse and inclusive community.

CULTIVATE Conversations is:

  • series of discussion sessions to learn from people and their experiences.
  • interactive activity where students, faculty, and mentors can learn from one another’s experiences.

These sessions are a venue to explore a variety of topics ranging from career development to exploring diversity challenges.

Through synchronous conversation in-person or virtually we hope to open the door to debunking stereotypical myths and a path to identifying and unlearning bias.

Sessions are personalized to facilitated discussions. Depending on the topic and featured guest or speaker, sessions can be: multiple private one-on-one segments, small group sessions, or one larger meeting. Concluding the session is a larger group discussion segment to explore: what was learned; what myths if any, were dispelled; and to receive feedback on the overall experience.

Past Sessions:

A Journey of Self-Discovery: Dr. Mondy led a conversation about a journey of self-discovery; and the struggle to overcome racial discrimination and learning disabilities.
